“Lula’s Brew” is a picture book written, illustrated, and read by award-winning author Elizabeth O. Dulemba. Her most recent book, as author and illustrator, is “Soap, Soap, Soap (Jabón, Jabón, Jabón)," published by Raven Tree Press. Now, she’s brought her magic to the iPhone and iPod Touch!
As the reader swipes the pages, Elizabeth brings the story to life on the voice track.
About the story:
Lulas Aunties want her to be a witch just like them. But Lula hates to fly on a broom and prefers to study cookbooks rather than spellbooks -- she wants to be a famous chef. In desperation, the Aunties insist she try to make one last potion. Lula secretly adds her cooking flair and in true witchy fashion ends up creating a brew that bewitches the entire town, and maybe her Aunties too!
This fun rhyming tale transcends the typical Halloween story to appeal to cooks and "foodies" throughout the year.
Pros and cons of Lula's Brew app for iPhone and iPad
Lula's Brew app good for
What a great way to share a book with a child!
The fabulous illustrations that accompany this fun story make it an absolute treat. Now my children have yet another reason to hang on to my iPod Touch :D
Wonderful illustrations! -- Great story --Where can I get the hardcover version?
Lulas Brew is currently available only as an APP. Although perhaps if enough interest is shown, a publisher may want to turn it into an actual printed book someday (fingers crossed).
This is a wonderfully illustrated, cute story about a young witch who wants to use her talents in the kitchen instead of mixing malicious potions. Story is somewhat similar to the Little Witch series, but the artwork is better. A nice addition to your iPhones kid library.
I just finished reading this to my 3 year old son. He loved it! It is such a cute book! Its just long enough to allow the story to develop, but also short enough to keep his attention.
This is a delightful story with great illustrations and narrator. However, there is no auto play option, so if you are me and my 2 year old daughter, you have to sit around and turn the pages to read the book. If it had auto play, definitely 5 stars. Please add that option!
